SCBC Playoffs Sept 20, 21

It's playoff time again! Here are the details:

VOLUNTEERS – about 6 to 8 are needed for both Sat and Sun ~ 7:15 a.m. for court prep.  Another 3 or 4 for lunch prep around 12:00.  Each team should be providing at least one volunteer.  Suggestion is that Sunday players help on Sat. and Saturday players help on Sun.  Please contact Julie Misasi via email:  jrmisasi@sbcglobal.net 

CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND – Saturday 9/20 – Juilliard Park

• Top 4 teams from each night (best won/loss record, then total points, then head to head play)
• 8:00 a.m. -  courts open for practice
• 8:45 a.m. – pre-tournament meeting
• 9:00 a.m. – play begins

Format: 

• 4 bracket, 5 team Round Robin consisting of top 4 teams from each night
• Round Robin games to 7 points
• Top 2 teams from each bracket (8 teams) move on to single game elimination (best won/loss record, then total points, then head to head)
• Single game elimination to 12 points; then
• Championship game to 15 points; runner ups to 12 points.
• SCBC league rules in effect.
• No practice between games.

CONSOLATION ROUND – Sunday, 9/21

Format:  Same as Championship round EXCEPT Round Robin play will be to 5 points

NOTES:

• MOST TEAMS WILL KNOW WHETHER THEY FALL IN CHAMPIONSHIP OR CONSOLATION BRACKET BEFORE LAST WEEK OF PLAY.  IF NOT, TEAMS WILL BE INFORMED ON FINAL NIGHT OF PLAY.
• This year we are asking that everyone bring a potluck dish to share for lunch.
• Bring your own drinks, lawn chairs, sunscreen, sunglasses, etc.
